Question 1: Why do I need to use an introduction agency to help to find a Thai wife?

If you are one of the growing band of disillusioned genuine single Western gentlemen, who is "sick to the back teeth" with the new breed of twenty-first century woman. If you are disillusioned with the kind of de-feminised, over sized, self-centred, mercenary minded lady, available on the Western singles scene, who is only out for what she can get. Perhaps you are not "Gods gift to women", feel that you are past your sell by date, or; are a workaholic, with no time to socialise, or when you do experience the singles scene, find it very shallow, and are completely disillusioned with it all. Any man who has visited Thailand, will tell you how easy it is to meet the WRONG type of Thai lady!  And how it is virtually impossible, to safely meet a decent Thai lady.

Question 3: What are a gentleman's marriage requirements, to qualify for a Thai Wife?

1. He must be single, divorced or widowed.
2. He must be in employment, self-employed, or of independent means.
3. He must be a homeowner, or have a renewable tenancy agreement.
4. He must have had a bank or building society account for at least 6 months.
5. He must have a valid passport, which does not expire for at least 6 months after his departure date from Thailand.
6. He must be prepared to travel to Bangkok. Basically gentlemen have to be able to demonstrate to their embassy/consulate, that upon arrival in their chosen country of residence, their Thai wives/fiancés will not be a burden upon the state, by having to resort to public funds.

It is possible by mutual consent, for a gentlemen awaiting his divorce, to become "engaged" to the Thai lady of their choice. The lady invariably will agree to wait, until the gentlemans' divorce certificate is forthcoming.

Question 4 : What kind of men use your service?

Genuine men aged 25-80+ from ALL walks of life and ALL physical and social statuses. We have successfully found wives for Teachers, Doctors, Lawyers, Company Directors, Military Personnel, Computer Technicians, Bus/Truck
drivers, Policemen, Firemen, Self Employed, Retired People, Etc. We have found wives for a US judge, an English Lord, a council road sweeper, a man in a wheelchair, a man with one leg, men with missing hands, a deaf man, a man of 86, even a blind man!

Question 5: Can the girls speak English?

Most have a very basic knowledge. A few can speak English reasonably well. However, even if your chosen lady knows very little English, she will have the will and the desire to improve her English very quickly. When I met my Thai wife she could not speak a word of English! But it did not stop me communicating with her, and falling madly in love with her!

Question 6: If my chosen potential Thai wife cannot speak much English can you help?

Question 7: How much does your service cost?

Question 8: How long should I plan to stay in Thailand?

Clients usually stay in Thailand for about 2 weeks. Some only visit for a few days, (if they are in Bangkok on business anyway), returning later to consolidate their plans. However those who visit for 2 weeks, invariably have plenty of time to forge a meaningful long-term commitment. Quite high percentages actually marry in Bangkok. Whist others take the slower more cautious route of engagement in Thailand, sending their chosen lady to their home country, on a fiancé visa.

Question 9: How much will my accommodation cost?

Hotel accommodation convenient to our office in a 3 star hotel costs about £35 per night, including American breakfast – a 5 star hotel approximately £100 per night. Please note, that whilst we are in fact; also registered as travel agents, we do NOT deal with the general public, this ensures that we can generally assist clients with their accommodation arrangements.
 

Question 10: What is your visa success rate?

100%!

Question 11: What happens if I am unsuccessful?

It really does not happen! If a gentleman is unable to make his mind up due to too much choice, or lack of time; he is eligible to return to our Bangkok office at a future date convenient to himself, within a 12 month period. He will then be provided with further selections of ladies, if required; until he has found his ideal partner; with nothing more to pay.

Question 12: Why do these beautiful Thai ladies want to leave Thailand, to travel thousands of miles to a different culture and climate?

They are just looking for what they cannot easily find in their own country - a good, sincere, kind hearted gentleman, who they can love and care for, who will do the same for them. There are many more women than men in Thailand, and a great shortage of eligible men. Thailand is a very male orientated society. There is a strong bias towards men in the workplace, and elsewhere. Ladies are considered “over the hill” at 28 years old! Many Thai men tend to be very promiscuous; often having more than one wife, and several occasional girlfriends. They are generally not looking for a long-term stable relationship. Not good husband material!

PLEASE NOTE. We are NOT saying that ALL Thai men are bad!! There are good and bad in EVERY race.

Thai women are not fully equal to their male counterparts. They are governed by a variety of legal, religious, and cultural restrictions. 

Traditionally, women are expected to remain sexually inactive until marriage. Abortion is only available in cases of rape, or serious health problems. Respectable Thai ladies do not go out on the town alone, and
those that do are assumed to be prostitutes.

Thai men, on the other hand, can, as we have said before, be very promiscuous, before and after marriage. It is not unusual for the Thai man to have an unofficial second wife, and a number of girlfriends.

In most cases the married Thai lady is powerless to do anything about this. If she complains, he will simply divorce her, causing her family great shame, and the lady great financial hardship.

She will have no state benefit to fall back upon. There is no such thing in Thailand. The onus is upon her family for support.

Question 13: Why do these ladies want to marry a Western man?

Divorce in Thailand is quick, easy and cheap.  Divorced Thai women have little opportunity or desire to remarry Thai men. The old analogy of a Thai marriage where the lady is likened to the back legs of an elephant, and as such is the stabilising directing influence, is a good analogy. Indeed women are often as important as men, in the economic contribution to the household, but their role is staying in the background behind their men, supporting them.

Many Thai ladies are rebelling against this intolerable treatment by their unfaithful husbands. Many now in fact initiate divorce proceedings, accepting the hardship, and repercussions of their actions. Other young unmarried Thai ladies see this scenario all too often, and have no desire to follow this unsavoury route of marriage, followed by divorce. They are now looking to Western men to provide the stable monogamous relationship which they seek.

They consider that Western men possess important qualities, which are sadly lacking in many Thai men. That they are loving, caring , faithful, and will provide the long term security which they crave.

Question 14: Do these ladies want to leave Thailand to escape Poverty and hardship?

Our ladies come from most walks of life, and from all over Thailand.

They all live and work in Bangkok, as that is where all the work is to be found. They occasionally return to the country for public holidays.

Question 16: What kind of ladies are on your books?

Decent single gainfully employed marriage minded ladies, from all walks of life. We have many office workers, teachers, many university graduates, with good jobs. Also housekeepers, hairdressers etc

This is up to each individual lady. However Thai ladies generally prefer a man who is a good few years older than her.

Most ladies like to meet a man face to face, (rather than stating categorically an age range), before making any hard and fast decisions.

You are met at Bangkok International airport, by our office driver, and escorted back by complimentary taxi, to your chosen accommodation in Bangkok.

Question 19: What happens next?

If you wish, you can rest at your hotel to recover from your long flight. Alternatively, you can hit the ground running, and commence introductions the same day. Generally however, clients get themselves a good night’s rest, and begin their selection procedure the following morning, by which time they are fully rested and raring to go! Indeed, many clients often make provisional selections, prior to their arrival in Bangkok, and have a couple of dates pre-booked.

Because any organisation dealing in this market, is invariably in fact usually dealing with less than genuine ladies with a chequered history, who have entered that country on a wife or fiancée or visitor’s visa and "hooked" an unwitting man, usually in dubious circumstances, in a Thailand bar, hotel,or place of entertainment, chat line, etc., These are almost in variably,marriages of convenience. The ladies bide their time, wait until they have achieved their goal, of securing unlimited leave to remain in the country then dump him; disappear and look for a richer man!

This has NEVER occurred with any of the ladies on our books.

In theory, this is a great idea. However in practice it is not so. The reasons are quite simple.

Ladies take time off work to meet gentlemen using our service in our Bangkok office. In theory they would have to do the same to receive and send replies to interested men who are not in Bangkok.

It really is however, a case of " A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush"

As we have so many gentleman clients using our service, the ladies naturally wish to use their time off as productively as possible. They are not so keen therefore, to use this time to receive letters from gentleman who, in their minds, may never come to Bangkok at all, or at best, probably arrive after they have become engaged to another man!

We have been in business for several years now; and experience tells us that the ladies are looking to meet a potential partner "face to face" NOW, not at a later date.

These ladies are NOT looking for penpals.

Answer: It is virtually impossible; to meet a decent single marriage- minded
Thai lady in a social situation in Thailand, as these ladies would not be
available to meet.
Yes; there are hundreds of Thai ladies to be met in social situations in
Thailand, however always remember, that when you go home, they have to earn
their keep, from somebody else!! To meet a decent lady, you need to use a
reputable agency, like Thai Professional, which has investigated the background
and social status of the lady.

(b)"Attempting to find a lady that will stay faithful to you in your absence?".

Answer: Once "engaged" to a lady who is on the books of a reputable agency like
Thai Professional, that lady is immediately removed from the books. She will
faithfully wait for you until her visa to come to your country has been
secured.

Answer: A reputable agency is there for you and your lady EVERY step of the

Answer: You need to use a reputable registered marriage agency, which has

Question 29: What makes your company and its service stand out from the crowd?

Question 30: Please can you explain why many of the ladies who have a child or children, from a previous relationship, do not live with their siblings, instead choosing to leave them with  parents or relatives upcountry, and perhaps only seeing them once or twice a year?

  The reason for this is primarily economic. Invariably the common situation is where a lady has been abandoned by her ex-husband, who has found a new younger lady, and left the old wife; never to be seen again. Remember, that in Thailand most Thais do not sign legal marriage papers, therefore it is very easy for a “marriage” (Buddhist Blessing ceremony – See “weddings” page of the website) to finish abruptly without any negative financial impediment to the “husband”. Good Thais are very family orientated, and it is normal practice for a child or children of an abandoned “wife”, to be brought up by older family members in the country. Please do not assume the understandable Western mindset; which would imply that these are unfit “bad” mothers. This is certainly not the case. The reasons are purely practical. The mothers want their siblings to have the best possible life that they can give them in these unfortunate circumstances, with some level of financial and emotional security. The logical way to achieve this is for the mother to work in Bangkok, where wages are usually considerably higher and employment opportunities better. She can then send regular payments to the family guardians, thus ensuring some stability in the children’s lives. The ladies do not take this action out of choice, but out of necessity. The end result of this; is that children often eventually do unfortunately consider their aunts/uncles or grandparents as their true parents, and will not always necessarily wish to leave them, if their birth mother finds a good Western husband. C’est la vie.

Question 31: Why do you use the apparently derogatory term “Mail Order Bride”, which is a term generally associated with negative overtones in the collective mindset of the general public; so extensively on this website?

Education – Education!

We use the term because; for better or worse it is a very commonly used phrase in the media, and therefore has permeated the average human psyche, as referring to virtually any lady of foreign extraction, who is brought to an overseas country as a new wife.  The media always love to assume the moral high ground with a “tongue in cheek attitude” , virtually implying, that a man will have a compliant new bride ‘shipped’ to his home from abroad – as caricatured in  the old BBC comic Series “Little Britain”!  - Not so.

We are here to educate and inform the World, that there is no such thing as a “mail order bride” – it is just a term that has been conveniently hijacked and associated with the stereotypical asinine beliefs, of narrow minded media conditioned individuals.

We use the term on the website, as we know; that for better or worse, it is a popular search term used by individuals seeking a foreign bride. There is no such thing as a “mail order bride”. It is a two way street. Gentlemen select ladies from our website as potential future brides, and likewise, the ladies they meet decide their potential as good husbands.

Question 32: Why has Lawrence Lynch got different coloured hair on every picture?!!!!

I have had white hair since I was just out of my teens. My good old dad was the same. I have dyed my hair since I was 21 years old, and like to ring the changes every so often. I’m just happy that I’ve still got some left!

In the same way that a man who has decided to use our service, is often pleasing himself, rather than “PC” pandering  to what he thinks others may think of him. Like them – I live life. I don’t let life live me!

Supplemental - Lawrence answers  some additional questions which have a contemporary relevance.

#1 Why after all these years in business, does Thai Professional continue to attract regular new clientele?

A/  Our reputation precedes us. That does not mean however that we rest on our laurels. We "keep our fingers on the pulse" of the very fluid entry requirements of the Embassies and Consulates, of our clients many and varied countries of origin; and reflect this, by flexibly accommodating these changes, with revised advice and guidance to the clients .They know, that they are in safe hands. I always tell clients, that we metaphorically "hold their hand"  and guide them through the entire process. Peace of mind, and a professional ethic, has value - and clients are prepared to pay for it.

 Whilst there are indeed many ways to "meet women"  on the net, there is no other service like ours, with such an inherent safety net. We have a distinctive  niche in the market. We are a boutique introduction service for discerning professionals.

#2 What kind of clients  are Thai Professional delivering for, in this financial challenging "New World" environment?

A/  We have most definitely noticed some changes in our client demographic. Although we still continue to attract good honest working people, the stringent entry procedure requirements  and financial restraints of some countries, have affected the ability of some potential clients to qualify.

Every cloud has a silver lining however. Certain countries however have bucked this trend - notably Australia who benefit from a strong dollar  and the present rosy econmomic prospects of their "rare earths" reserves.

We continue to deliver for successful professionals of all ages and numerous nationalities; including clients from South Africa, France, Portugal, Italy, Yugoslavia, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Holland, Germany, Singapore, and even Russia; as well as the numerous regular North American, British, and Australasian  gentleman of old.

We are attracting more clients in their thirties and below, than in days gone by. Our youngest client being the 23 year old son of shipping magnate. At the other end of the spectrum, we had a retiree of 86!

 #3/ Can you talk me through the first 24 hours of a client using your service?

A/  Clients are greeted at the airport by our driver, Mr Anong, and escorted to their chosen hotel, whether it be our recommended 3 star hotel on Sukhumvit Rd, or one of their own choice. The following morning (the day after - for very late evening arrivals), I meet and greet the new client in the foyer of his hotel. After checking that he has got his passport, and sufficient funds for the days' events, I take him to get a local sim card in his phone, (or a cheap new one, if his phone is locked), and a Thai/English - English/Thai phonetic dictionary.

We then proceed to our office, where I introduce him to my wife "Miaow" (her nickname); and attendant staff. I sit the client down, and explain the interview format.  Clients are often nervous and apprehensive; but a little gentle reassurance goes a long way towards setting their minds at rest. I explain, that the ladies will invariably be experiencing the same emotions, which my wife will do her best to neutralize. After some light refreshment, when everything has been clarified, Miaow joins us, and talks with the client, prior to the commencement of proceedings.

 Clients will often meet as many as a dozen ladies that first morning, thus virtually guaranteeing that they will exit our office 3 hours later, with a lovely Thai companion.

Ladies will be introduced  to the client, one at a time, with the first 5 minutes being spent covering all aspects of the ladies financials and provenance. Total disclosure is obligatory. Gentleman's  provenance is discussed. His finances are not, as the ladies know that we would not have accepted  them for the service, if they were flakey, or their intentions dishonourable. Also we want a lady to be judging the man - not his bank balance!

After the first few minutes, Miaow will look at both parties, and ask whether there is potential mutual chemistry and a desire interest to continue talking, or not. If the latter is the case, Miaow will thank the lady for attending  and the interview will be terminated. If there is mutual interest, an interview will continue for a few more minutes, after which, she will enquire of both parties if they have a desire to go on a date. If there is such mutual desire to do so, she will ask the lady to wait behind, whilst the next interview will take place.

We encourage clients to ask everything that they want to know of the lady, and vice versa. If I feel that  a particular topic has either been missed, or insufficiently clarified, Miaow or myself, will ask for that information. I always confirm, with clients prior to their departure from our office on a date with any lady, that they have had all their questions answered to their satisfaction.

Usually by lunchtime, a shortlist of potential dates remain in the office, and all that remains are the logistics of arranging  the dating order. In the very rare event that no ladies have made the dating starting date - I honestly cannot remember the last time that happened - the gentleman will remain in the office viewing additional potential ladies for interview, from our extensive database. My wife will then commence booking ladies for interview later that day or the following day.

It is a virtual certainty, that by day three, our client has homed in on one lady, to the exclusion of all others, and that before the end of his visit, he is engaged.

Miaow is available for regular consultation and advice both day and night, during the entire procedure, assisting with communication, by liaising with both parties. That is a very important aspect of our personal service, and much appreciated by all our clients.
